Unlike IPL or laser treatments, electrolysis treats one hair at a time and is suitable for all hair colours and types. Sessions are based on the time needed to treat your target area. As your treatment progresses, you’ll notice sessions become shorter and more spaced out. Treated hairs will return thinner, softer, lighter, and eventually stop growing altogether. Sometimes, a “tombstone hair” may appear—this signals that the follicle has been permanently destroyed.
The process uses a fine probe that gently enters the hair follicle. A blend of direct current and high-frequency current (or high-frequency alone, if medically necessary) creates lye and heat, destroying the follicle. Most clients describe the sensation as mild—similar to a bee sting. Sensitive areas like the upper lip or neck may be more uncomfortable, but numbing options are available.
Why Do I Need a Consultation if I’ve Had Electrolysis Before?
We understand it may seem unnecessary to have a consultation if you’ve previously received electrolysis elsewhere. required at least 24 hours before treatment—we’ll perform a test patch to assess your skin’s response, determine your comfort level, and confirm the safety of our approach for your unique skin and hair type.
Electrolysis for Red Vein Removal
We offer safe and effective reduction of broken capillaries and red veins—most commonly on the face, though other areas (excluding the legs) can also be treated. Note: This treatment is not suitable for varicose veins.
Using only high-frequency current, this technique involves tapping the probe along the affected vein to cauterise it. Results are often immediate and the procedure is relatively painless. Some clients may need follow-up sessions for optimal results.
Electrolysis for Skin Tag Removal
Electrolysis can also be used to safely and effectively remove most skin tags using high-frequency current. This process cauterises and removes the skin tag during the treatment—no need to wait for it to fall off later. The procedure is generally quick and minimally uncomfortable.
